History

Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. was founded in 1953 by George W. Stebbins on the basis of providing his customers with the highest quality parts and service standards available in the automotive recycling industry.

In January, 1985 the company was purchased from George Stebbins by his two sons, Fred and Jeff, who carry on the same level of quality commitment to parts and services as their father did when Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. was first started.

In December, 1987 Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. realized the progressive changes happening in the automotive recycling industry and implemented the Hollander and Eden computer systems. This decision was made in order for Stebbins to become more organized with inventory and to service their customers more rapidly. Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. was the first automotive recycler in Kentucky to have these two computer systems.

In March, 1992 Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. purchased Earl's Auto Salvage in Lexington, KY to service their customers in the Eastern and Southern regions of Kentucky better. The name was changed to Lexington Auto and Truck Recyclers and still remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc.

In August, 1994 Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. purchased Import Auto Wreckers of Indiana, in Marysville, IN to service their customers in the Northern regions of Kentucky, and the Southern regions of Indiana. The name was changed to Indiana Auto and Truck Recyclers and still remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc.

Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. continues to grow securing several exclusive contracts with insurance companies, multi owned dealerships, car rental agencies, collision repair centers, and automobile wholesalers via the Dealer Services Division. Stebbins is also in the process of going on-line with a World Wide Web site and a home page with America On Line in order to capture the growing international recycling market. Future plans for Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. includes acquiring other yards to provide their customers full state coverage with same day or next day service. Stebbins currently ships to customers in the United States, Canada, and international markets.

It is with this foundation of belief that Stebbins Auto Parts, Inc. is the leading recycler today in Kentucky with three locations to serve our customers.
